We are Villi and Sigrún, the founders and owners of Iceland Exclusive Travels, a family run company built on our love for Iceland and our passion for sharing its magic with others.
Villi has a diverse background in the arts, with experience in music, theatre, film and television. A multi instrumentalist and accomplished singer, he has performed with numerous Icelandic bands, acted in musicals, hosted TV shows and worked in various roles in film production, from acting to sound engineering and location scouting.
Sigrún’s background spans science, administration and public service. She has served on Reykjavík City Council and held board positions at several leading Icelandic companies, including Reykjavík Energy and Iceland Drilling. She was also a deputy board member of the Central Bank of Iceland and led Industry Solutions and Consulting at Matís, Iceland’s leading food and biotechnology research institute. Eventually, she decided to follow her passion for travel and hospitality, dedicating herself full time to welcoming visitors and building the business alongside Villi.
We have specialized in tailor made private journeys across Iceland for individuals, families, companies and organisations since 2010. From intimate getaways to corporate retreats for hundreds of guests, we create personalised experiences designed around each guest’s interests and needs. We’re especially excited about our Lava Lodge, designed for those who want to venture beyond the typical tourist trails and discover Iceland the way we would want to experience it ourselves if we were visiting for the first time.
Over the years, we’ve been lucky to welcome our daughter, son and daughter in law into the company. Together, we’re proud to make Iceland Exclusive Travels a true family affair.
