We are Villi and Sigrún, the founders and owners of this family-run company. Iceland Exclusive Travels is not just a business to us, it’s a passion project rooted in our love for Iceland and sharing its magic with others.
Villi comes from a rich background in the arts, including music, theater, film, and television. A multi instrumentalist and accomplished singer, he has performed with numerous Icelandic bands, acted in musicals, hosted TV shows, and taken on diverse roles in film production, from acting to sound engineering and location scouting.
Sigrún brings a strong foundation in science, administration, and public service. She served on the Reykjavík City Council and has held board positions at several leading Icelandic companies, including Reykjavík Energy and Iceland Drilling. She was also a deputy board member of the Central Bank of Iceland and led Industry Solutions and Consulting at Matís, the country’s top food and biotech research institute. Eventually, she took a leap of faith to follow her heart, dedicating herself full-time to welcoming visitors and building our family business alongside Villi.
Since then, our family has grown, not just personally, but professionally. We’ve been lucky to have our daughter, son, and daughter in law join us in the company, bringing their own energy, skills, and passion into the mix. Together, we’re proud to make Iceland Exclusive Travels a true family affair.
